On the day of your training, you will undergo a Live Scan fingerprinting process. This is a mandatory step to ensure a thorough background check as part of the state requirements for obtaining your security guard card.
Application
After your Live Scan, you will need to fill out an application form. This form will collect your personal information and details necessary for processing your security guard card.
Course Completion
You will participate in an 8-hour training course that covers essential topics such as:
- Powers to Arrest
- Appropriate Use of Force
Testing
At the end of the course, you will take a 52-question test. The good news is that this test is open book, allowing you to reference the course materials to help you succeed.
State Requirements
To qualify for a security guard card, you must meet the following state requirements:
Be at least 18 years old.
Have no felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors.
*Must Renew every two years to be an active Security Guard*
Continuous Training
In order to maintain a high standard of security and ensure that our personnel are well-equipped to handle the challenges of their roles, we have designed a Continuous Training Program for security guards. This program consists of 16 required hours of training, with an option to complete up to 32 hours by the time you need to renew your guard card. The training courses offered can be tailored to enhance your specific security position and address the unique challenges you may face in the field.
Required Courses: Within 30 days
Upon completion of the training courses, participants will receive certificates acknowledging their hours and competencies gained. It is essential that all guards maintain records of their training to ensure compliance with renewal requirements for their guard cards.
